I took this picture today. Anyone want to guess what it is? I'll do a post in a few hours the identifies it.

Given the number of lines and the turn and the news of the day, I'd guess it's a howitzer barrel. Admittedly, though, my first guess was the beginning of a James Bond flick.

A howitzer it is. Nice ID! I was at the WWI Museum today. More later.

I served in the Field Artillery ... as a mechanic. Nice to know I wasn't completely useless. :-)
