I presently serve on the General Assembly Council (GAC) of the Presbyterian Church (USA). Part of my responsibilities is serving on the GAC's Mission Work Plan task force.
The GAC is the board of directors for the denomination. An oversimplified way to describe things is that the General Assembly sets policy, and the GAC oversees the implementation of the policy. The GAC produced its first-ever Mission Work Plan to set objectives and priorities for 2005-2006. It had problems, but it was a giant leap from nothing to something. We are working on the plan for 2007-2008.
I am in Louisville next Wednesday for our second meeting as we prepare for the new one. I would be interested in your assessment of the Mission Work Plan, 2005-2006. What do you think? I had no part in its creation, so you won't hurt my feelings if you have critical remarks.

Not much. But it is still a work in progress. We meet again in at the end of August to talk more about specific objectives.
