Thank you for your excellent, well-balanced insights. I experienced life with the poor and disenfranchised living in the Holy Land near a Palestinian refugee camp for 6 1/2 years. It is another world to those raised in opulent America. But as you stated, we mustn't romanticize poverty as being inherently more spiritual or better per se.
