Wired had a good article on the rise of the netbook.

When I head back to school, I'll probably get one.

I expect to buy one later this month.

I'm thinking about a Dell. I can get discounts on Dells.

I think the model is the Mini 10.

To both of you .. why? How would you personally benefit from a netbook v. a laptop?

Michael W. Kruse

The primary thing for me is travel. The weight is less than three pounds and the battery lasts 6 to 8 hours. The size is no bigger than some books I have on my shelf which makes easy to store.

The computer I have now, when you add the power pack to the mix, is a major pain to carry through around on trips.
