Livability: America's Best Farmers Markets: 10 Amazing Local Farmers Markets
After running for 150 years, the City Market knows a thing or two about providing quality farm products. The market dates back to 1857, and has only grown finer with age. As the largest farmers market in the region, the City Market hosts over 140 vendors, offering a mix of farm foods, arts and crafts, and entertainment. The market is open daily and invites guests to enjoy not only local products but concerts and festivals as well. On the agenda are events like Movies at City Market Park and the Farm to Table Festival Series.
Mrs. Kronicle and I were there Saturday morning and purchased some fresh veggies and roasting ears. Cambodian, Vietnamese, Mexican, and African people all mixed in as vendors at the market, covering nearly a city block. Here are a few photos:
Several musicians were playing at various locations. These two characters were serenading us with their rendition of "Istanbul, not Constantinople."
