Funny, you should post this. Last night I was just putting this into a review I am helping write. This is from a Bible Study-
"While we do not knowthe specifics of the death of the widow of Nain's son, or the daughter of Jairu, whenever we see the sick in the New Testament, we should ask: did Roman occupation make matters worse?"

And

"while Tiberus Caesar had no personal responsibility for the woman weeping on Jesus' feet (7:36-50), Rome's policies--economic, social, and political--may have pushed her to the point of desperation and forced her to make the choices for which she was later ashamed."
