Economist Timothy Taylor always has interesting posts. Yesterday he posted Worldwide Income Inequality: From Two Humps to One. The world distribution of income 25 years ago had a large hump at the low end and a smaller hump at the high end. (If you go back another 20 years, these humps are even more pronounced.) The distribution is now moving more toward a bell curve. Remember that the following graph is logarithmic, so the right tail extends to the right when scaled otherwise. Still, the shift from the blue to the green line is moving in a very positive direction. The big question is how do we make this happen better and quicker?
